Despite my previous post, today wasn’t all bad.
The day started out with a couple of hours of mad fun at Little Monkeys (free entry all holidays!). Charlotte LOVED it and Sophie did too, but was a little perturbed at having to part with her shoes into a box behind a counter. She kept saying, ‘Man, Shoes, Cry’ and after about half an hour of this I had to ask the ‘man’ if we could put her shoes in my bag instead as she really couldn’t comprehend why a strange man should be taking away her shoes! She was much happier after that.
Then we had a quick trip to the Botanical Gardens to feed the ducks and play at the playground (the less said of the latter, the better!).
We returned home for Sophie to have a little nap and we enjoyed a lovely play with our neighbour’s son.
In the afternoon we spent a few hours at Wellington Zoo with Marrisa and Bethany (thanks Marrisa for some beautiful photos on your blog!), where the girls had a fabulous time and Charlotte carted around her ‘cow bag’ on wheels with a noddy bag of treats inside.
The day ended with Sophie insisting on phoning Daddy to say, ‘Zoo, Roar!’, she obviously thought the lions were the best!
Charlotte’s most memorable quote of the day was this morning, on taking Daddy to work, when Dan and I were feeling a little tired and stressed about our forth coming trip, “Stop! If you don’t stop I will sello-tape you together!’.
