Wellington City Gallery, set in Civic Square, is celebrating Matariki with a star making activity through till 30 June. Today we took the girls to create their own star for the cosmic galaxy.
Charlotte flying her star:
There are already some very creative stars on display and this activity is a wonderful opportunity for children to experience an art gallery and partake in contributing to an exhibition (of sorts!). With Capital E also located in Civic Square there is plenty for children. For older children (age 7 and above) Capital E have teamed up with The Carter Observatory to showcase the Matariki Cosmodome.
And only a short walk across to the watefront the wonderful Te Papa is going Matariki crazy with numerous events. We’re looking forward to the Te Huka a Tai Whanau Day on Saturday 30 June.
