We are holidaying in Queenstown this week, getting a beautiful fix of Autumn in Otago. Hues of yellow, orange and fiery red adorn the trees, their beauty magnified in the glass like reflections of the lakes.
Our holiday wardrobes reflect the season, layered like the folds in the mountains that have their first sprinkling of snow. Shirts layered on top of t-shirts, cardigans that can be tied around the waist in a moment, long sleeved tops worn under t-shirts, boots instead of baring our toes.
I was treated to a new t-shirt from my dear Mum for my Birthday (the black and white striped one in the photos, with the red flower). It was too chilly to wear it on its own, but with a black top underneath, just perfect! The layering also made for discreet breastfeeding, without getting a chill!
Combined with leggings and black ankle boots I felt just right for the season – not too cold, not too hot.
And, without thinking, my youngest daughter was colour coordinated with bold splashes of red to match the autumnal colours ablaze on the landscape too. The beautiful jumper she is wearing was worn by my dear sister in her childhood, and another of my daughters, and is still going strong and very much loved indeed!
With love from beautiful Queenstown, New Zealand, this Wardrobe Wednesday!!
