There are days when the sun shines,
but no part of it shines in me,
There are days when my heart aches,
and my head fights to make it see –
This feeling inside is nonsense,
though it seems to control me.
I run, even though I don’t feel like running,
turning off the voices in my mind.
I drink till I’m numb,
then write words to try and free me,
If I can get the right combination,
The key will turn the lock.
The tide has to turn, as sure as the moon appears in the night sky,
But right now I’m stuck in a vortex,
where time seems unchanging.
The light is so dim, but a flickering.
