Things I’m Loving: To my beautiful 8 year old x

“When the dog bites,

When the bee stings,

When I’m feeling sad,

I simply remember my favourite things,

And then I don’t feel so bad.”

–  ‘My Favourite Things‘ from The Sound of Music

LOVE listening to YOU – My beautiful 8 year old, singing this classic song.

And LOVE so many other wonderful things, as this first school term of the year nears the end for you…

LOVE your tear jerking poetry.

LOVE your creations that you quietly disappear off to make.

LOVE the way you and your 6 year old sister are playing together – teaming up to beat me at ‘Hangman’ (though you really shouldn’t torment her with Marmite, Ketchup and Twisties – her pet phobias!)

LOVE your creativity in making a personal card for a friend’s Birthday,
using flowers you’d pressed a while ago, and a card for your Grandma.

LOVE that you gave your all at cross-country this week and,
as the youngest (and by far the smallest) girl in your class, came 6th out of 23 girls!

LOVE your inner confidence and independence.
LOVE that you’ve maintained friendships of old, from your last school,
and are establishing some great friendships now in your current school too.

LOVED watching you play in the surf, cold as it was, with a school friend this Friday.

Friday after school on the beach

LOVE your team spirit in playing touch-rugby this term and last term &
that your team got a special mention for playing the fairest 🙂

LOVE that you carefully carried a swan plant, with two chrysalis about to hatch, to school – so you could share the incredible joy of seeing a butterfly unfold its wings for the first time!

LOVE your playful nature and fun-loving, sisterly care for your younger sisters too.

Thank you for being all that you are. We all love you so much x
