Wellington celebrated the Chinese New Year with a wonderful parade yesterday. Dragons, firecrackers and ornate costumes proceeded through the streets and along the waterfront.
We started off the day with chocolate all round for Valentine’s Day (any excuse!). The shops are now laden with chocolate from November through to April, what with Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter coming one after another. The Warehouse, in particular, is a real trap – with all sorts of tantalizing boxes and candies near the entrance and exit points.
After a sugar laden start we went into town for lunch at Mac’s Brewery and a whizz on the ‘Big Air’ bungy for the girls.
We had a wonderful time enjoying the parade, before heading home for the girls to dance around with their beautiful parasols, which Grandma very kindly treated them to.
