Last night was a historic night for New Zealand football. The All Whites defeated Bahrain and qualified for The World Cup.
When we first arrived in New Zealand, 1996/97, football games were pretty much a non-event with small crowds and little atmosphere. Over the years we’ve watched this change and last night was, indeed, a fabulous celebration which will see football interest continue to grow in New Zealand.
‘Little Dribblers‘ football clubs for children are now plentiful and popular for boys and girls. There are a lot of very excited young (and old) football fans after last night’s results. What better inspiration do children with a passion for the game need.
The result also means that there will be plenty of TV coverage of the World Cup games in New Zealand – whoop, whoop!
